Default Java coding.

Ik this is the wrong section if it gets moved w/e I wont look at it then lol.

Anywho I was wondering if anyone here is a java coder and what programs to use for "professional" coding, I'll be taking advanced classes at RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) over the summer, and I want to explore all the programs used for it, all I use now is textpad (not notepad) lol, which is all manual coding.

I have messed with Java, but no where at the point to code it. I used notepad2. Realize that I was looking at code and modifying it.

Definitely stick with manual coding until you're introduced to programs used at your school. If you know how to do it manually then you can debug any problems you might encounter when using software.

Definitely use Notepad++ It's the shit when it comes to manual coding and it's completely free.

For Java, use eclipse. Professionals use it, since you mentioned that.

For anything else, use notepad++ in Windows or vim in linux.

I'm fairly sure dreamweaver does Java and HTML. I might be wrong though.

I use it for html, reason I don't use it for java is b/c I want to use something specifically made for java.
