I think he is just doing his job. You can't buy things like paint or cigs for minors so why would a mature game that you have to show your id for be any different? You clearly were buying it for a minor.

Yeah I also don't know 100% if its a law yet, but earlier in the year when this was discussed the ESRB isn't a law in a lot of states it is just a recommended system to go by as well. So the fact of it being sold to a minor like Cigs or Paint isn't a good comparison. But Mike has a point he was just doing his job and he clearly knew the intention of buying it.

They have some stupid things there,

THEM:"The game can't be plastic wrapped when trading it in because then we can't sell it as used"
ME: So I took off the plastic wrap took out the disc, put it in the case and said "there its used.
THEM:"We can't take that since we saw you open it in store"
ME: What if I walk out the store and bring it back in
THEM: "No because we saw you do it 5 minutes ago"

I just gave up they have done it multiple times to people while im in there too, some of it is just so stupid.

I said he was just doing his job in the first post, but when you decide to do your job for one person and let it slide with everyone else, then we have a problem.

So many people hate Gamestop....and I mean, this story is kind of lame, but he IS just doing what his boss told him to do. You want him to get fired so you don't have to drive another 15 min? Fuck that.

Gamestop has always been awesome for me. Very helpful, always have everything I need, and most of the workers there are pretty cool people too.

my gamestops pretty chill, the halo jokes of a tournaments they have there suck but everything else is good. but the main reason i go is for the trade-ins(sp?) i got Army of Two: TFD for 30 bucks when i traded in dragon age origins.

First, I couldn't care less if he was fired or not, I don't mind the 15 min drive.

Second, I only went to gamestop first cause they were closer, I didn't even expect to get it there anyway because I knew they would BS me in some way.

Ive had nothing but problems with them, like my reservations and pre-orders have all gotten fucked up by them, they've handed copies of my game that I reserved to people with the same first name as me. They sold me a disc once that was cracked down the center when I opened it and tried to say that I broke it. This has gotten to the point where if I had a choice between the Walmart down the street or Gamestop to get the games, I'm going to the bestbuy 20 mins away just cause Walmart doesn't get new games in on the day they come out.

He was doing his job, he doesn't know your his brother. You could be a friend that is older and willing to buy the game, which i'm pretty sure isn't allowed. The guy doesn't want to loose his job because he is selling a mature game to a minor. Stop whining.

K, you read the first post, good job. He was going to be selling the game to me, an independent adult, not a minor, There's no law or reason why I can't give the game to a minor after I buy it. Doesn't matter if its my brother or not. The ESRB rating is a suggestion not the law.

I find it funny how I get all the people who agree with me the day I post it, and people who disagree with me the day after I post the thread when it doesn't matter and I don't really care anymore.

I'll go ahead and sum it up, I went to gamestop, got shitty service, and left and got it for $10 cheaper at best buy, yay story over.
