Beginner Tutorials

I am trying to get into photoshop, I've had it on my computer forever and I want to participate in SOTW, among other things.

Do you guys have any recommendations for a place that has good tutorials with good building blocks? I find some tutorials here and there, but I feel like I'm not really learning how to use the program.

Well if your just getting started I really recommend Paint.net since its like PS but a little more basic on the controls, thats how I got started and it helped me understand PS a lot better then I did.

I will look for some basics for you.

photoshop | Abduzeedo | Graphic Design Inspiration and Photoshop Tutorials

Abduzeedo has a good mix of beginner as well as advanced tutorials. Plus lots and lots of inspiration.

A lot of the tuts posted here seem like they are kind of random and don't really go for the advantage of the noob, like myself.

I like how he asked for links to PS tuts for Beginners and people supplied other site links, yet someone a while ago asked for a site for GIMP tut, I posted a link and got infracted =/

I go to tutorial9 and abduzeedo. I don't know if they have tutorials for you, but they have good ones.

Well if your just getting started I really recommend Paint.net since its like PS but a little more basic on the controls, thats how I got started and it helped me understand PS a lot better then I did.
