Credits: 750 ![]() ![]() ![]() | this brings up an interesting debate: money vs art. should the best picture be a visually breathtaking movie costing a shitfuckload to make, and raking in unreal amounts of money? or is the best picture one that takes a new angle to a fresh concept, maybe low budgeted and not as fantastic and awesome as a blockbuster, but effective in story and the "meat" of moviemaking? this obviously is what went down tonight with Avatar vs. Hurt Locker, and i would say the right choice was made. avatar was no doubt a movie to remember for so many reasons, but to me its just not best picture material. to me, the best picture is driven by the basics of moviemaking. a story, characters, and a general sense of compassion for what is going on in the story. and for this, i feel the hurt locker couldnt have been more deserving. |

I enjoyed Transformers more than 12 Angry Men but questioning which one is the better movie would be outrageous. yours, |

![]() Best Forum Poster | I love that the best director / picture winner was James Cameron's EX WIFE. SHE SHAT ON HIS CHEST! PS.... Major Nelson just posted this:

![]() Best Forum Poster | IDK, it is just me that if my EX wife beat me when I released my film that revolutionized 3D and reset the bar for the revanue raised, I would be furious. |

Credits: 750 ![]() ![]() ![]() | shes a comedienne who has spent most of her life playing that stereotypical annoying black humor with jokes that revolve around "you know us black people do ______________" as the starting sentence. she hosted showtime at the apollo for a while and has had a shitload of random shows, and ive hated her for years. but her acting in precious made me put all that aside and im a fan now. |
