Default My car build thread (2000 Ford zx2)

First off I want to say I am not going INSANE with my car. Like no Nitrous, flaming exhaust or basically stupid shit from fast and the furious haha. And that fucking bumper stick has to come off XD.

What I'm going to do:
Cold Air intake (Probably K & N or Keman) - Done
Borla or Magnaflow exhaust & headers
Body repair (need to pop out dents and buff some scratches) - Somewhat done
Tail lights - Keeping em stock
Tires I NEED TIRES - Done
And for some of it I will be getting assistance . - Not so much anymore lol

So far that's it, the tires, body repair and the intake will be done first. I absolutely need tires.

Updates - HID 8ks, nothin special.

Spoiler

Spoiler

Pictures(Oldv2):
-Car heavily cleaned, rims, interior, waxed, etc (fucking bumper sticker off finally), intake.

And a shot of the bay before it's put in (still have to do it as it just came in)

(old)
Stock shift knob:

Street Glow knob (illuminates 7 different colors and lights up my dash at night)

Me and my dad wiring the xlpod stereo, got the new faceplate from amazon (we had to sotter the rubber [with matches] to pull it off so we can twist the copper wire together, all together there were 4 octopuses or wire harnesses.):

The new stereo installed:

And a shot of both:

You should have talked to Midget or myself for car audio... I wouldn't recommend xplod.
As for the mods, they're pretty basic ones that people do on their own and I don't think you would have any problems doing them... it's just I don't recommend doing them, especially to older cars.

All in all, you should have fun working on your own car as long as your willing to put in the work.

Well for the exhaust I'd like to put it on a lift, and I have friends that have em, I hate jacks.

You can get some blocks and raise your car, it would do the same thing... and are you doing your own welding? Have you welded before?

If your going to do your own exhaust, I would recommend going Magnaflow, and if your having someone else do it... I would almost recommend the same thing... Yet, for YOUR car I would recommend flowmaster. Most any American car will have either flowmaster or borla, however again I recommend Flowmaster (it will also be less expensive.

I've never heard flowmaster in person before, I've only heard the two I mentioned and I like the way they sound. I'll check into it and if I do like it and it's cheaper than I will buy it. I have welded before but not for an exhaust, which is where the assistance comes in

I don't know other brands for parts and whatnot for your car and I don't know what else to recommend. however, if you need audio questions answered, I can definitely help.

I wish I could mod my car : ( I have a '96 v6 Mustang, which btw the clutch exploded on this weekend. Thinking about after I fix it, selling it and buying a nice v8 Mustang and super charging it. Good luck with the project!

Make sure you have more then enough coolant in your car, keep oil levels high (within range), and check everything at least once a week. Oh, and don't try to beat an STI going up a 18% grade hill.

Well I was going to put a $600 body kit on it to add 200 horsepower. And maybe 2 racing strips down the center for an extra 25 horsepower a pop. Like Arsonisms car.

.
